A hotel lock management system governs access to all guest rooms within a property. It typically consists of a front desk management terminal, card issuer, and networked smart locks. By enabling time-limited access, tiered authorization, and customizable permission sets for smart cards, the system manages entry rights for staff and guests alike, safeguarding both personnel safety and property security while streamlining administrative workflows.
Wireless smart locks retain all the advantages of legacy wired networked locks while eliminating the hassle of cabling. This drastically reduces the deployment complexity of large-scale lock monitoring networks for hotels and office buildings. No tedious wiring is required for the locks themselves—each lock connects wirelessly to a gateway/base station to enable seamless two-way data transmission and remote control between the front desk and individual locks.
Given the ultra-low power consumption demands of smart wireless locks, ZigBee modules feature proprietary low-power networking optimizations, and have been successfully deployed in large-scale hotel and office building smart lock projects. This solution removes the need for network cabling, enabling effortless networked control of hotel locks. Compared to alternative wireless solutions such as Bluetooth, these locks offer easier network setup, support for a larger number of nodes, longer transmission range, lower power draw, and superior anti-interference performance.
A wireless smart lock comprises four core subsystems:

Wireless ZigBee Communication Module
It handles core functions including lock actuation, access card verification, battery telemetry, and lock status alerting. The ZigBee communication subsystem integrates our module with purpose-built low-power firmware optimized specifically for smart lock applications.
The gateway unit consists of a CPU processing unit, ZigBee communication interface, and Ethernet communication interface.

The dedicated ZigBee host module handles storage, forwarding, and processing of server-issued authorization and control commands, as well as storing telemetry data uploaded by locks.

The Ethernet communication subsystem uses our IPort module, which enables seamless remote Ethernet connectivity to backend servers via a single serial port.

The wireless ZigBee interface leverages the module to enable reliable communication and control of all connected locks.
